Playing VCDs on a Proscan model PS8675P

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I was curious to know whether anyone can help me with a problem I'm having with my DVD player. It clearly states in the manual that the player does play VCDs but does not play CD-Rs or CD-RWs. But I've noticed that certain CD-Rs do in fact work with the player, the one I know of is the old version of the Prime Peripherals CD-Rs. But when I purchased the newer Prime Peripherals, they no longer work. I'd like to be able to watch VCDs in my player so I was wondering if anyone knows of any CD-Rs that DO work with this player. Thanks.

That is just the thing. Those DVD players can ONLY very marginally play CD-R/RW if at all even if I told u to get this or that brand/type media there is NO GUARANTEE that the next batch of very same media from the same or another factory will work. In the end, as ALWAYS it will boil down to getting one of those new $150 DVD players that specifically plays CD-R/RW as the solution.
