what happened to our countryside?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : CountrySide Family : One Thread

Hi everyone, I'm trying to find out what happened to the countryside forum. I know it moved to homesteadingtoday, but there is no action over there. Where did everyone go? I only check in once or twice a week, so I feel lost and confused!! I miss the forum! Mary

Homesteading Today has two different sites . One active, one inactive. www.homesteadingtoday.com is the active site. "Countryside Forum" is listed on that site as a "read only archive" now.

Thank you both. It's good to see familiar names again. I'll check out the homesteadingtoday again, but it just doesn't feel right. Oh well. Mary

I figured it out! I was going to the mission4me site, and that is no longer active. It's the homesteadingtoday site that is active. I had the mission4me one bookmarked, so I didn't notice the difference (they both look the same, except the address is different). It just takes me longer... Mary

Mary...like you, I can only check into the forums a couple of times a week. But I tell ya, this forum and Country Style Homesteading are excellent forums. These folks will help you answer almost any question you have OR direct you to the right answer!! Don't be a stranger here :-)!!

I don't have an answer, but I do have a question. I found this sight kind of by accident. I was looking for information on osage oranges and started reading. I found out what I wanted to know about the osage oranges but I have a question about black walnut trees. On our property we have an abundance of black walnut trees. Is there a way to make them NOT produce walnuts? I know that sounds very wasteful, but they are dropping all over the place and we are turning our ankles and having problems mowing - they become projectiles! I have been told that they are the best type of walnuts for baking, but who has the time and energy to clean them? Too much mess! If anyone could help I would sure appreciate it.

I'm surprised there isn't more people here now with all the problems over at homesteadingtoday.com. It's downright frustrating trying to read and post over there. Lusenet was never that unreliable.
