Don't you love the Pundits?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unk's Troll-free Private Saloon : One Thread |
My system is to get up at 4:00, shower, feed the cats and walk the pup. Then, I turn on the TV and start breakfast. That is the time that the business news comes on.This morning, they had some pundits on. Actually, a covey of them.
In summary, they said, we would be lucky if the DOW dropped less than 500 today and Nasdaq dropped less than 200.
Well the results are in:
DOW +150 Nas +30
I think these people must be related to the broker that handles my accounts. :<)))
Best Wishes,,,,,

Guess they were right, we were lucky. The damage from corporate fraud thus far is already a lot more than 500 points, and the long term damage will be devastating. Give it time.

English words of Hindi origin include cot, loot, thug, chintz, bandanna, dungaree, rajali, pundit, coolie, tom-tom, and juggernaut. It's very stressful to be a pundit. Think of it---every morning at 8:00 AM, CNBC expects you to spend 15 minutes saying something insightful, entertaining, provocative, erudite and accurate. After 10 years, I burned out.
I now post to this forum in a vain attempt to save it from trollboy.

"I now post to this forum in a vain attempt to save it from trollboy."ROTFL! The only thing this forum needs to saved from is the kind of hypocritical ignorance that pugs like you constantly spew. All I do is point it out and you respond because you know it is true!

vainThus proving my point.

You're not wrong TB. When you remember that noone buys a share of stock w/o the confidence that someone else will buy a similar share the next day you realize that confidence is everything in a paper auction. Think roland wonders if you'd still be so doomy had Gore stolen Florida.

Z, Get out now before the house of cards falls. Or if you want, I can research your investments through the SEC and tell you which ones are on shakey ground.

Z, Get out now before the house of cards falls.GET YOUR MONEY OUT OF BANKS NOW!!!! It won't be long now. If you live within 5 miles of a 7-11, you're toast.

Ghost of Paul:Actually, all of the 7-11's in the state closed in the 1980's, so I guess that I am safe.
I asked Paul this question, many times, on CSY2K and the old Yourdan board, but he never answered. ;<))))
