Looking for a Lighthouse, http://www.cr.nps.gov/maritime/whatsnew.htm homestead, perhaps you can qualify for one of these, as with all government property there are strings attached, like state and local gov. get first pick and then non-profits and then everyday people. However, if you have your sights set on a lighthouse, then perhaps you can should incorporate as a non-profit.The National Historic Lighthouse Preservation Act of 2000 (NHLPA), P.L. 106-355, authorizes the disposal of historic lighthouses and stations through a new process.

Ahhhhh, lighthouses... I love them! I think most people do. Don't they just conjure the most romantic images of standing high above a crashing surf, gazing into the distance, the smell of the ocean tangible? *siiigh*Still, I have often wondered if it's hard to arrange the furniture in one of those round ones, or keep the sand out of your food! hehe Like living in a castle, definate drawbacks. I know I know, they are modernized!
Cool idea to think about...

I am very interested in this process. How do you get an application? Where else can you find out about this process?
