Seeking parents of Sarah Ann Morton, b. 1829 Stanly Co., NC, & d. 1905 Stanly Co., NC.

One source states her parents were John Wright Morton and Sarah Tucker.

Another states parents were Joseph Morton, a son of Rev. Ezekiel Morton & Elizabeth Brumbelow, & Joseph's wife, Margaret 'Peggy' Hatley.

Sarah m. Thomas D. Rogers ca 1848 & moved to Union Co., NC, later returning to Stanly Co., NC, where she died and is buried at Canton Baptist Church near Albemarle.

Wish to trade information with anyone researching this Morton and/or Rogers/Rodgers'line.

Thanks, Belinda djrodgers@lexcominc.net

There is a will for John Morton and wife Mary F. Morton in will book II page 256-258 in Stanly Co. that mentions daughter, Sarah A. Rogers, "to receive twenty dollars in consideration of my having done more for my sons than for my daughters." You can find it on this site under the wills listed here. Other children are listed.
