harvesting seeds from sweet peas

greenspun.com : LUSENET : VictorySeeds.com : One Thread

I am new to gardening and I'd like to learn how to harvest my own seeds from plants I grow. I have an organic vegetable garden and some flowers. I thought I'd try sweet peas first. How do I do it? In fact how do I harvest any seeds? I'd really appreciate your help. Thanks

Hi Belinda,

Seed savings is part science and part art. Practices and principles also vary by plant species. If you do a search on our site or go to our site map (http://www.victoryseeds.com/sitemap.html), we do have some on site seed saving information.

If you are at all interested in becoming a serious seed saver, I would highly recommend reading a book by Suzanne Ashworth extitled, "Seed to Seed".

Best of Success,
