Looking for Gingerbread Cake recipe using Sourdough Startergreenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread |
I used to have a book called Sourdough Cookery that was either an HP or Sunset Publication book (thinnish book, either 8 by 11 or 9 by 12) and it had a recipe for Gingerbread Cake using sourdough starter.I can't find the book and would like to make the recipe to keep the sourdough starter active, because I don't make a whole lot of bread. On the net I did find a recipe for Mendenhall Gingerbread (closest recipe to the one I'm talking about), but it had more steps to it and (to me at least) was not as good a recipe.
Does anyone have this recipe somewhere? I'd appreciate it if you could post it here for me. Thanks to all.

I just recently started baking with sourdough and am searching the web for various pieces of information. I currently have an HP Sourdough Cookery book checked out from the library that is by Rita Davenport and has a recipe for gingerbread in it. It uses a 9x9x2 pan however. Also contains a recipe for Lemon Sauce. Could this be what you want? Karen
