I m interested to buy a used Symmar S 5,6 240 MC . Is there anybody who use such a lens with 8x10 . What is the difference between the new 5,6 240 Apo Symmar and this older lens . Thanks !

Achim I own a Symmar 240/420 convertible. Not sure if it's the same lens you mention, but I use it on 8x10 with very limited movement. It works very nicely for up-close subjects. Oddly enough, when used in the 420 configuration, the image circle doesn't change. Even tho the lens is now 200mm farther from the graound glass, the circle is the same. Hope this helps

the 240 is a great lens i also shoot with the apo version the only difference is the apo seems sharper for closeups nice for 8X10
