The information here has always been available as a cached copy on google. just go search for what you want and instead of clicking on the link, clicked on the word "cached" next to the link.

Chuck what am I doing wrong? I just typed in a search for countryside and poultry, and the results looked just like any other search. I couldn't find the word cache or cached anywhere.

Gita, when your doing your Google Search, if you look at the right of the box where you put in your search you will see an option entitled "Advanced Search". Click there.

You will then get another Google Search screen with all kinds of options for narrowing your search. Type in your word or phrase your looking for and then go down to where it says "return results from the site or domain" and type in www.greenspun.com. That will narrow your search down to the topic you want in the Lusenet forums only.

All Google searches give you the "cached" option. Just look at the last line of the each results to the right of website address they list. You will see it says "cached" and "simular page". You will choose "cached".

Cache is a saved page. It is for viewing only - you won't be able to add to it nor will you be able to go to any other links meantioned in the post, but you will be able to at least view the thread. If there is a link you want to go to, if you move your cursor over the link and look at the bottom of your screen, you will see the web address appear. Then you can handtype the link to your address browser line to get there.

I must agree, I like the "look and feel" of this site better, it is simple in it's approach, and I for one was very depressed to see it go. Can't we get the new site to look the same as this one, simple and straightforward?

OK, Karen and Chuck....I figured it out.

Next question: Is there some way I can get the page with the listing of ALL the topics, rather than having to put in a keyword?
