NHB Crashes - Run-time error '5': invalid procedure call or argument

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Anders Petersson's Freeware Forum : One Thread

Hi all,

Trying to do a backup under Win2000 results in the above error. I have tried different source/destination folders to no avail, and downloaded the latest runtime files. any ideas?

Cheers Russ

I think I have found the bug (or more corectly: John Wagner did). I will release a fixed version as soon as possible. The error is caused when NHB is trying to force the files on the backup destination to copy the attributes of the files in the backup source. Keep an eye on the homepage the next couple of days.

There is now a patch (2.0.18) available at the homepage that should fix this bug.

I have tried with the NHB 2.0.21 version, and the error continues like this: "NHB is experiencing an unexpected error (5:Invalid procedure call or argument) problably related to this file: \\nameserver\clients\...\catalog.wci\000010005.dir" This file is not accessible by any user, except the system.

P.S.: I syncronized 6 Gigabytes over a Network in less than 30 minutes! Fantastic!
