Spring tonic?

I don't know why, but I'm feeling sort of tired, run down. Anyway, I thought a nice cleansing, reguvinating tonic would be nice. Does anyone have a recipe for one they really like?

My Dad always used sassafrass tea, if you can find either the tree or a store which sells the root, prepare like normal tea, of course somewhere along the way someone said it was a carcinigen? I still drink it when I can get it though.

We always had rhubarb (cooked with plenty of sugar) as a Spring tonic.

Dandelion greens are nice. Our livers tend to slow down in the winter so come spring a nice dose of bitter greens are good to get the digestive juices flowing again. Dandelion root, yellow dock root, or burdock root are also good cleansers.

Every year in the spring, my mother always told of having to take a spoonful of sulphur and molasses each spring. She never had her children take it, however.

When I'm feeling out of "sync", it is usually because I've been forgetting to take my daily Vitamin C. It is my energy pill.

A table spoonful of cod liver oil or caster oil was what we got. We would cry and beg not to take it. They would just take hold of our noses and force it in. YUCK!
