Veggie Wash : LUSENET : ACountryPlace : One Thread

Does anyone have a recipe for a vegetable wash?

I know water alone does not remove the wax and sprays added to our fresh produce. In the winter when a lot of our fresh fruit comes from outside the US, it is even more of a concern.

Thanks for your help.

Stan's right. Most veggie wash is an expensieve way to buy vinegar.

I use grapefruit seed extract (buy at the healthfood store). It is supposed to kill germs, virus's and parasites, and will nuetrilize any pesticides on the veggies. I have used it for 3 years and I think it works great. Use about 20 drops in a basin of water and soak the veggies in it. It is expensive, but lasts a llooonnnggg time. I have had the same bottle for 3 years.
