B.L.Green was the illegitimate SON of Siddy Green Brooks. He was not her nephew or brother. In the case of Ezekiel v.Siddy a deposition was taken in 1850. Jacob Green and his wife Mary Green both swore in a deposition that B.L.Green was the son of Siddy and Jesse Barnett. Alexander Brooks was trying to prove that he (Jesse Barnett) was also the father of Libby Elinder Brooks (female, died at birth) and Ezekiel Monroe Brooks, instead of Ezekiel,Sr., Britain L. Green was present as attorney for Sidy and ask them (Jacob and Mary)questions. He did not attempt to disprove or deny the claim. Jesse Barnett lived with Sidy and Ezekiel for quite a while. Ezekiel disclaimed both children according to affidavits. There was also an affidavit that stated one "Sarah" Green was a stepmother to Siddy. It did not mention Sarah's husband. The person who gave this affidavit was (Tarabe?) (Farabe?) Green, also in 1850. In regards to the deed I mentioned to you-The information I am about to give you comes from a book by Margie Williams Baucom. I do not know her source. The book is titled THE BROOKS BRIDGE OF FAMILY HISTORY. On page 18 she states " Sinthia (Siddy) Green in or around 1820, daughter of M.B.Green and sister to Howell,Brittain and others." Unless there were two(2) Briton Greens- this is an error. The deed itself is on page 163. It states registered on July 1774 (but next line states registered July,1830) It concerns land sold to William Brooks II, I do not know if the "II" was an add in by Margie or on the deed. There seems to be a note stating signers of the deed were conveying the interest of their dead father. (a) Sarah Brooks Green (Note:Tillman Green's wife) (b) Siddy Green Brooks (Note:Ezekiel Brooks wife)(c) Jacob Green (d)Phereby Green (e)Howell Green (e)Gideon Green (f) James Hinson,Susannah Hinson (g)James Mullace, Mary Mullace (h) Noah Green. The information is most probably basically correct -BUT to be sure, a copy of the deed is best if you want to be correct. SOURCE; Aug.12th.,2002, Jim S. Brooks
