Did the Frisco railroad go to San Fransico?

While perruving over old maps in florida last year i notisied some thing called the frisco railroad.Seems a long way east past the chigago line for a western railroad.Much of this railroad is abondoned or no longer in use expesialy in lousina and texas..any info would be nice and a map if possible

Answers

St. Louis & San Franciso Ry. Never got west of Texas. Altho ultimately operating 5000 miles in nine states serving southwest and southeast territory, its name (like so many) represented only aspirations rather than eventualities. Now part of BNSF system, in which SF stands for SFe rather than San Francisco.
