Canon EOS Rebel will not load film

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

My camera had been working fine. The next time I tried loading film it did not function correctly. It goes through the normal steps i.e. I close the cover, the motor starts and will run for a couple of seconds and then stops. However it does not load the film. I have tried different rolls with the same results. I checked the battery power level and that was okay. I checked the spindle where the film catches and on the plastic tabs and they appear to be okay. There is a spring and roller assembly and that appears to be okay. Any suggestions? Thanks.

It sounds like a trouble of infrared diodes for sprocket hole- counting.

That might be a good idea, except that the REBEL = EOS 1000 does not have an IR sprocket sensor.

Thanks for correcting my wrong idea.
