Decaffeinated tea

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Tea Forum : One Thread

Does anyone know if regular decaffeinated tea is completely without caffeine in it or is it just a lower amount? I know that most herbal teas indicate they have no caffeine, but I was wondering about the regular teas.

Hi decaf tea contains .4 mg caffeine. Herbal teas really are caffeine free. Hope that helps.

Decaffeinated Tea does contain very small residual amount of caffein. Caffein content depends on the Company producing the product & the process applied. Generally High Pressure Carbon Dioxide Process developed in Europe produces the best Decaff Tea as it removes practically all caffein, does not leave any resifual Carbon Dioxide & above all the delicate flavour of tea is preserved.

This is a question on the subject of decaffeinated tea: how can tell which tea manufacturers use the European process of applying carbon dioxide, and which do not?

Deacf Tea has a lower content of caffeine at < 0.3% verses the regular tea containing 3 - 4% caffeines.
