Differences between latest and SMC Takumar 35mm fisheye?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Pentax 67 SLR : One Thread

Anyone know if there has been a major design/quality update on the 35mm fisheye between the SMC Takumar and latest offerings? I'd heard that a lot of the latest lenses are simply re-packaged older designs. I'm looking to buy a secondhand fisheye and the lower price of the older lens is attractive.

There is no evidence of an optical change since the Takumar. The Pentax and Takumar both show 11 elements and 7 groups. I would think that Pentax would produce a 35mm rectilinear. It would be a big seller.
