What is the main and exact definition of Psychology?

Answers

There is no one definition of psychology. It is a field that encompasses many different phenomena and approaches. William James called it "the science of mental life" back in 1890. During the middle part of the 20th century it was common to call it the "science of behavior." I think most contemporary textbooks now say something like the "science of behavior and mind." There are some, however, who reject the idea that psychology is, or should aspire to be, a science.
