Update on Pipe bombs

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

Just a quick alert. As of 11:30 this morning, they have an APB for a 22 year old man driving a grey four door Honda Accord. He is strongly suspected of being the / one of the pipe bomber(s). He was last spotted in the Amarillo, Texas (Panhandle in north Texas) area. So be VERY careful when you are collecting your mail and if you are living in that area.

I don't want to be alarmist but . . . better safe than sorry. Also let your children know not to collect the mail, especially if they see any strings or anything unusual hanging from or near the box.

I must admit I flinched when I opened our mailbox this morning. We live in Kansas and I am just waiting for someone in the area to be hit. Hope they catch him or her.

22 year old man in an accord. That narrows it down to only 1/4 the US population.

The young man is in deep trouble. I wonder if he realizes just how deep it is! Oy vey! His father issued a statement. I feel for his parents.

The mailboxes are OK to shut again! When I got back from town this morning the mailbox was shut, the rope I had securing the door open was undone. With a little trepidation I opened the mailbox and there was our mail. The noon news said the open mailbox order had been lifted and the mail carriers were closing the mailboxes when they delivered the mail today. Was a weird feeling to be afraid to open our own mailbox, I must say.

I'm guessing he doesn't realize it. Lots of people that age don't take life seriously. Obviously he didn't. He'll sure have lots of time to think about it. He'll be lucky to be an old man by the time he gets out of jail, if he ever does.
