Half-time, ManUre 0 United 3. Lewis Guy go wor 2nd and 3rd. We were aal ower them for the fourth 25 mins and then they came back into it for aboot 10 mins but we scored on the break when the baal was judged by the linesman to have crossed the line. Can't remember what Josh said aboot the third except Guy scored. More to follow later.

Final score ManUre 2 United 3. As the 2nd half wore on, tiredness set in with a number of wor bairns going down with cramp. However, they hung on to take a slender advantage back to SJP. Let's hope they can hold on to it.

A crackin' game. Apparenty, the only thing missing (according to our reporter Josh) were the fireworks. Guy scored two, and believe it or not, the fourth orificial (who replaced an injured linesman) was one G Fawkes. Just a shame they didn't set fire to the biddy place at the end.

Thanks for that fellas. Pity we let them back in - could make it difficult in the 2nd leg. Do away goals count double by any chance?

The Journal reckons the 2nd leg is at SJP on Monday May 13. I'll try to get along to hopefully cheer the bairns on to victory.

Nice to see Greenspun beat NUFC.COM to the report. Still only showing HT at this stage (13:35)

I'm not putting the teams up here as the announcer didn't give them before the match (I was in 10 mins ish before ko). The team sheet was definitely wrong. .COM will sort it.

We played some tidy football and were definitely the better organised team.

Calvin Zola Makongo up front with Lewis Guy were a handfull for most of the game. I was impressed with Guy - he holds the ball up well and took his goals well. Cal is a clone of Shola with more hair - his goal was an othodox header from a Freekick on the right of the box - planted it into the net. He also supplied the ball for Guys 1st goal.

Manure were all workrate but came back in the 2nd half. They missed several chances and a couple of last ditch tackles prevented goal attempts.

Calvin got booked for an innocuos push when Lewis Guy got pulled back on the half way line by the last man with only a kick given - Guy also got a nasty kick on the head when he was down on the edge of their box - as per usual nowt given.

The Manure left back looked about 12 - but he was quick - think of a small white version of Ian Wright-Phillips.

Overall we deserved it although the number of players struggling with cramp at the end was a worry - they kept going right to the end of the 5 minutes of injury time - no change there then - Taggart clocks incorporated - add time if the Reds are losing.

I don't think away goals do count double. I can't exactly remember where I saw that, one of the web footy news services. If its even on goals at the end of full time at St James then is 30 min overtime, then penalties.
