What do I use to stretch the leather on my Nike shoes

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I have several pairs of new Nike shoes that are tight across the toes and I need to stretch the leather a little. We used to have something back years ago that we sprayed on that worked great but can't remember what the heck it was. Any ideas or help appreciated. Thanks Bill

Look at tag sales , second hand shops , ect for a shoe stretcher. The Vermont country store may sell them.

It was called shoe stretcher in an aresol can. Worked great. Some shoe stores still carry it, but it's pretty hard to find around here. Walmart might carry it, but ours doesn't. Can't remember the brand name, but they make other shoe products too. Slips my mind at the moment!

Rubbing alcohol; on the inside.

Place either a raw potato or a baggie of water inside, then throw them in the freezer overnight. The expansion stretches the shoes. Hope this helps!

Neatsfoot oil (NOT neatsfoot "compound") may work. It waterproofs and softens leather and darkens it too. True neatsfoot oil is rendered from cattle hooves. "Neat" is the ancient name for "cow," I'm told.

When I was younger with our new cowboyboots we would soak them wet with water then wear them all day. It would strech them and fit you foot perfect. Made it take the shape of your foot as it dryed. I don't know about sneekers but seems like it should work on them to. Good Luck
