Hi friends, I have a Canon EOS 650 and I want to buy lens 28-105 USM II for it. According to you, will that lens work well?

Thank you!

I have the 28-105 USM II, and I like the lens a lot - the sharpness is acceptable to me (I'm used to shooting with a 50/1.8 FD prime, one of the sharpest lenses I've used) and I don't see any painfully obvious distortion at either extreme focal length.

My only misgiving with the lens is its' weight - it's 13 ounces, attached to my 12 oz. Rebel 2000 with a polycarbonate lens mount. I'm not too worried about the mount, but the camera is front-heavy without the BP-200 battery pack, which then triples the weight of the body. :(

I'm trying out a Sigma 28-80 3.5/5.6 ASPH IF lens as a day-to-day lens, it's half the weight of the 28-105, but loses a stop.
