Don't want lens to fall off

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Large format photography : One Thread

So there's this little $30 thingee I can put on my Sinar to keep the lensboard from falling off. Right now I only have one board and lens, so I figure a piece of black electrical tape will do the trick. Are there any other solutions for this whatweretheythinkingof design problem?

I would choose duct tape over electrical. It is alot stronger. As for intelligent answers I am at a loss.

The thingy is worth the $30, but black 1/2" gaffers tape on the sides would do fine in your case!

My F2 has the thingy which came with it. It looks like a simple enough solution to build yourself. There is a channel on the edge of the standard which accepts a screw head which holds the thingy. You could fashion that easy enough by forming a piece of ABS plastic or even make it out of wood.
