Geeks: CSS code; how to place text beside images

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

One of my sites uses CSS and I think there I need to figure out how to code in order to place the text beside an image instead of below it. That little piece of help will be forever remembered (at last, until next week). If you need to see my problem, check the Brazilian flag's placement here. I know just enough html to be dangerous, and nothing of CSS or such similar abbreviations.

Also, a good beginner's manual for this, one more horrid techie language, if you can suggest one.

(Melissa, I put this in the computer category; how about a general Internet cat? The website cat didn't seem to fit.)

anyway just add align="left" after the border like this in your code

border="0" align="left"

As pure html, I can do that, but when I did it within the CSS < >, it didn't work. Can I do it outside the CSS, using the html? The flag is accessed, as I understand it, through the CSS code. (You can probably tell I don't understand this much.)

Steve, the email notification I received of your post showed that you accessed the flag by html and could therefore do the align="left". So I cut the CSS code and replaced it. So one way or another, it's done. Thanks!

Dah!!!!!!!!!! What ever you say is fine /if I don't have to do it/ or take a test about what you said!!!!!

Steve is right and it would go inside the tags < > along with the A HREF=""/IMG SRC=""...yaddie, yaddie, ya...whatever you are using.... part. As a rule of thumb, you add any type of modification of size or placement inside the tags along with the image.

sorry haven't been here in a few days, but i wanted to tell you to do a little studying on css. you are using inline style sheets. it would be easier to use a seperate style sheet file and call it in each page. i will give you more info when i can look it up at home. don't hold your breath though i have to get ready for a test next week and a million other things.
