Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Paul! How I miss Washington state! Looks like a wonderful place you have there! I sure do miss all the green foliage! Jan

Great photos, Paul. I am envious of the property. It looks like a great place to homestead. I received a package last week from a herbal company in eastern Oregon and the contents were packed with local newspaper from the real estate section. Five pages of great deals on farms and homes in the Blue Mountain, La Grande area. Is that anywhere near you? I have always remembered eastern OR for its desert look. I've driven I-80 from Portland to KC and back again about 6 times during the 70's and early 80's. I remember La Grande and Pendleton as being very dry. I probably got a poor idea of the country from the freeway. Your pictures are real appealing. Thanks for sharing.

That's kinda funny. I graduated from LaGrande High School.

Pendleton sits on the edge of the desert from central Oregon and the lush mountains of eastern Oregon.

I currently live about a half hour north of Spokane - about four hours north of LaGrande.

That has to be one of the most beautiful pieces of property ever!!! Great job on improving it too. I loved the idea of using pigs to do your dirty work. Fun for them and less work for you. (Plus they taste good.) Let us know if you ever add to this site again!

Thank you for posting these. So many interesting things. I loved the log chicken coop. Many of the bad things that happen are really learning experiences, right? The kids sure look happy!

Paul- The new pictures are great! We may just take you up on your earlier offer of camping there.

Wow, wonderful pictures. The homestead we LONG for AHHHHHHH! Love the photos of the kids and animals. The baby goat picture was precious, you should send it into Countryside or Country magazines. Someday soon we'll find our property, I know it. Thanks for sharing and alittle pump me up! Dream do come true Blessings, Kelle in MT

Great Pictures!!! I loved looking at them. I'm having a cute attack from seeing the new chicks. I haven't had any chickens for 8 years, and now I am living in a place where I can have them again. Just waiting for the chicken house to get finished, sometime soon! Your place is so beautiful! I only saw the photos down to the one of the rooster. How come the rest didn't open?

It's possible that the rest didn't open because the images are so big - are you using a dial-up modem?
