More on the simple life by jess

4,The simple country gentleman,[simple in lifestyle, not in mind],has his House as a home, for him ,his family, sometimes for his relatives. for happy, productive times. His house is not for him an investment,to grow like a bank account. He does not pour a large part of his income into it every month. He does not serve his house, his house serves him.

5.The SCG makes do,with what he has.He thinks of the teepee, the covered wagon, sod house, log cabin,an old school bus ,a camper,a tent, all can be used for a simple house by people with a purpose.People are more important than houses. He remembers his growing up' years ,when part of his family house was a red caboose salvaged from the railroad. It may have looked odd,but it served the purpose.

6.The SCG feels that every simple house needs some pretty flowers by it,or a pretty bush or plant, that shows the country folk inside enjoy them ,take pride in,take care of it. Beware of the folks or house that have none.

7.The SCG does not feel compelled to shave his yard grass down close, even if everyone else does so.He much prefers the swish of a more mature, satisfied grass as he strolls over it on a cool evening. [I do hope you have enjoyed the thoughts on housing]

#4 should be read and reread if you want to make a go of it farming or homesteading unless you're independently wealthy
