Where can I find the rest of LV?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Aeon Flux : One Thread

I recently got the "Best of Liquid TV" DVD and I was dissapointed. Not only was it not necessarily the best of LTV, but it also omitted some greats. specifically i'm on the lookout for Running Man (from the out of print Megatokyo VHS Tape) and a couple other (like the Dear Mum postcard scenes) and the Battleship Potemkin Stick Figure Theater.

Doh!?! It suddenly occurs to me that the DVD would probably include 1 & 2. Get 2 if it doesnt though.

Yeah, it has both volumes on one DVD. I was fairly dissappointed with it, overall, but I really dig having the Psychadelic detective and some aeon flux eps. I should buy the Aeon DVDs.... but I'm rather attached to my tapes.

To anyone who is interested. After a search that took me years I've located all 3 seasons of Liquid Televsion including the Liquid Extract bonus feature. In the next few weeks I will be auctioning off copies on eBay. In my opinion this show was the best show to ever hit the air and my copies are the best quality you'll probably ever find. Contact me if interested. (And yes "Running Man", the "Psycho Gram" (Dear Mum serial) and the Stickfigure theatre Battleship Potemkin is inluded as well as Joe Normal, Aeon Flux, Dog Boy, Beavis and Butthead and Winter Steele).

That sounds not only illegal but unethical. I can understand selling copies for the price of the tapes, but selling them for profit is unconscionable.

A piece of canvas is only worth the cost of a piece of canvas only until VanGogh or Picasso puts a brush to it just as a compact disc is worth less than a dime until an artist records upon it. Try buying an original Dali for the price of paper and paint. What is on the tapes is what is important and what gives them their value. The fact is that those shows are impossible to find. You can't get everything in life for free. If you feel that selling copies is unethical then I dare you to find them somewhere else; odds are in favour that you won't. However if anyone is still interested, I do have copies of the shows.

Hey y'know...I have an original drawing of Aeon Flux, signed by Peter Chung. I'm sure there's a HUGE demand for it, so why don't I just higher some slave laborers to knock off a few thousand copies and sell them as originals at an immense profit to myself. It must be OK since people want the drawing, RIGHT? In fact, I would actually be doing them a favor.

I was going to say pretty much the same thing as Logo. But instead I'll share a personal story. I own orignal tapes of an (in)famous show on nickoldeon from the 80s, Mysterious Cities of Gold. I taped these for my own amusement on my own time- but I realized in the 90s that other people might want to see the show too.

But instead of hawking them off like I owned the copyright, I merely offered them for the price of the tapes, and in one case, when someone couldn't afford that, the price of postage alone.

To imagine that I'm somehow endowing the tapes with more worth than they had to start is merely ridiculous.
