DON'T BE FOOLED BY PACKAGE SIZES OR BRANDS - IT IS EASY TO SEE WHAT REALLY IS LESS EXPENSIVE

Big is not always cheaper! Small is not always cheaper! How can you tell which is the better buy without having to be a mathematian to figure it all out?

Use the UPC codes on the front of the grocery shelf in front of the products. Don't be fooled by package sizes or brand names. On the UPC codes there will be a breakdown of of how much per ounce a product is. The breakdown will appear in the same place on all shelf lables.

With just taking a quick glance, you will be able to instantly tell which product or size is the less expensive or better buy.

Yes, this method works good on dry goods and cans but what about the things. Take for example soft drinks, a major brand in cans will list cents per ounce but the same brand in 2 litre bottles will list cost per litre. Who is prepared with that info? Grocery marketeers are starting to slip into that catagory we reserve for IRS agents, lawyers, and siding salesmen.

And that is also assuming that they are current and/or correct, if they are there at all (kids like to take them off). I always bring a calculator with me, just in case.
