I had the same question a month ago and i have figured out the Ulead program is an excellent software to our needs. It's called Ulead picture show.

ulead video studio, picture to tv, moviemaker 2 , and pro show are the pick of the bunch.

Pro show is the best hands down - intuitive, user friendly, fast, professional finish, comprehensive and fast editing features - best editing features of all software of this genre, complete package (just cant handle mpg clips). ulead video studio is great in conjunction with the others. it is however very resource hungry on your computer and timme consuming... but a complete package. microsoft's free movie maker 2 is a great alternative but outputs windows media file which can then be converted in ulead video studio to mpg and vcd 2.0 format. picture to tv is very professional look but very limited in editing features.

go for pro show.

I've just tried Ulead's DVD PictureShow 2 and the results were great. Image is sharp without any flickering unlike Ulead’s Video Studio. Very user friendly with the usual effects and can produce multiple slideshows in different chapters plus adding a video file to be burned together.

Proshow Gold is the excellent choice. Visit www.imagespro.com You can also do this using Nero burning software. I've tried both and both work well. Best of luck.
