He has a shattered left ankle, a broken left hip and a fractured right wrist and is lucky to be alive. He was in a core trench and the bank gave way. If he had been working alone like he normally does, he would have been dead, but that day he had a partner who saved him. I have been living at the hospital for the past 10 days until last night. Yesterday we moved him to a skilled nursing center closer to home and he told me to go home. He should be able to come home in 1-2 weeks and then I will take care of him.
I will update you once in a while as I can.

Gosh! Be good to yourself, too. You'll need to be strong.

(((Becky))) I feel bad I didn't post it here..I could have, I thought I saw it here and TB..Sheez!I thought everyone knew....
I hope you can rest up a bit, from all the last 10 days...and then be renewed to do the nursing when he comes home.
I can paste here if you want..I know time may be a commodity for the next few months. Just let me know.

Like you Sue, I thought everyone knew as well.Doesn't everyone peek at TB once in a while?

thanks Sar and barefoot. You can paste it here if you like. I just wanted to be sure all of my cyber-friends knew and it is so easy to miss things over at TB2k with some of the personality issues that seem to crop up over there.I am finally sleeping at home, still only about 6-7 hrs a night, but it is my bed and that is helping.

Beckie, you and your husband have my sympathy and best wishes. I did not know, I don't keep up with the other board.

beckie, I haven't been following much myself. I'm so sorry to hear that, but glad he appears to be progressing.

Prayers from here, as well. I saw this at TB in passing, but I didn't realize that was your user name over there, Beckie. Sorry. This is my busy season, and I glance at several news threads on a few boards, leave a comment or two here, and log out.I'm glad he's doing better! Sounds like it's going to be a tough summer for y'all.

Tough summer? so far it's been a real ditch!

Thanks for all the good thoughts. He wants to come home so badly and personally I can't see any reason why he can't and am going to discuss with the doctor tomorrow. I am the one bathing him and changing his bed and doing things for him, the nursing staff sure isn't - it takes up to 1/2 hour for them to answer a call light and they keep forgetting to give him his pain meds on time. Yes, he needs physical therapy, but they could set up a program for him to follow at home and then come in and check him a couple times a week until he is better able to be taken to the hospital for therapy. We may be having problems with workmans comp because there is some confusion on which company is to pay for this. His employer's accountant had just changed the insurance company and there seems to be confusion as to which company was in force at the time. Phone calls tomorrow! !

Oh Becky, this is awful, I'm so sorry. Poor guy must be in a hell of a lot of pain--and you must be exhausted from caring for him and worry. I'll be thinking of you.
