Canon Polarizers

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

When using a circular polarizer, do you have to adjust the exposure control or does the Canon ELAN II do that automatically? Does the Canon ELAN II have a TTL metering system that allows for the compensation of the filter to be automatic?

Thanks!

All EOS cameras meter through the lens. There is no need for any exposure compensation on your part when using any filter that's put over the lens.

Well, the title of your questions suggestions something else i.e. something about Polarizers from Canon and not concerning compensation to be done with a polarizer. It would be good if you give a proper title something like Exposure Compensation for Polarizer.

There are several concerns about using a polarizer on an EOS camera like the Elan II / EOS 50.
