ElanII options with 420ex

Just curious if anyone is aware of being able to use the pic modes on the elan 2 sucessfully with the 420ex. I like to take pics of my cat in portrait mode as it is quicker to capture in a manual mode. Or do I have to stick with P,AV,TV,M and full auto? Thanks!!

Yes... people do get good pictures even in PIC modes. With flash, I doubt whether all PIC modes will function in the same way or not (except Landscape and Sports mode where flash is never fired). The Night, I think, will work same way, even with a flash. This is the case of EOS Rebel 2000/300. Elan 2 should not be completely different. But the best way to shoot is use P mode if you don't want to do lot of setting and use the default EV set in that P mode. May be you can change the setting to keep the same EV by rotating the main dial and see what effect it makes on your photos. You will learn a lot even from this (you need to keep notes of the Shutter Speed and Apperture Values in order to learn)
