I need to take photograohs of a flow of microparticles falling in water and I want a 5x5mm field of view at a distance of 30 mm from the flow. I have a CCD camera (Kodak Megapus 9.1x9.2 active area). Can anybody suggest what kind of lense and/or accessories I need to get so close? Thanks Cinzia

Canon's 60mm, 6x macro lens will get down to as small as a 4x6mm field area. You would have to attach it to a Canon SLR camera of course. Using a Canon D60 with it could get you to nearly 3x5mm.

Reverse an old 50mm standard lens from a 35mm SLR camera in front of your digital camera lens. Works great.
I've used lenses as short as 28mm to get practically microscopic pictures with a digicam, although you might only get a circular image with anything shorter than a 50mm lens.
If you can find or make an adapter, so much the better, but a lash up with cardboard and tape is just as effective.

Now that's a good idea Pete has. I'll have to try it with my Canon G1.
