Filing taxes online--anyone used Quicken's free service?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I'm wondering schedule F is available if I use Turbotax by Quicken. You can file free, but without signing up and spending a lot of time looking into it, I can't tell if it's more than just the basic 1040 and the schedules that come with it. Schedule F for farm income doesn't come with the packet you get in the mail, and that's why I'm wondering.

Thanks,

Sorry, that should be, "I'm wondering *if* schedule F is available"

Elizabeth, we send for this every year, but get the deluxe, home and business edition so that we can have the schedule F. Filed on line using their service, and it's quick and easy. I don't know about getting the basic package, whether it has the farm Schedule F or not. Sorry. Jan

Hi Elizabeth, not sure if there are different kinds, but we used TurboTax, by Quicken for Windows, yes it has Schedule F for me, C for husbands business, EZ for daughter in college, in fact we have had about 5 folks use this! The kicker...........same nearly exact questions an format that is used by H&R Block which charges us over 200$ to do our taxes! No More! I swore I would never again do my husbands books for him, have to say this program has me eating my words! Vicki

I've used Turbotax on the web for the past 3 years without any problems. Filing electronically is the way to go. I get my refund back in 3 weeks or less.
