Going for the Weekend.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

This weekend I am taking John Michael to Fort Scott Kansas to see the civil war reinactments. I live in SouthEast Kansas but have never really been "around" here. Does anyone know anything else up that way that would be interesting to see or do and cheap? I am also taking him Sunday to Wolarock in Oklahoma to see the Traders Camp. I am trying to be frugal so I am taking food and drinks. My parents want to come and offered to drive so I don't have to buy gas, so I am opened to some more things to do or see if anyone has any. I will be leaving Saturday morning so I will see you guys back on Sunday night. Have a great weekend!God Bless

I'm not too sure about the distance, but there is a runestone in Poteau, OK that is authenticated to have been written on by vikings! If I'm remembering right, that's about the Most Interesting Thing in Poteau, so it shouldn't be hard to find directions!

Micheale---if it isn't too late for you-----go to your search engines- --likr yahoo-----& type in "Fort Scott, Ks."-------it has lots of information----

also in what ever route you are takeing----type in to the search engines--for information on that area-

I don't know if the trollies have started running in Fort Scott yet this year or not----but it is a lot of fun to ride the trollies all over town & hear about the local history---

have lots of fun!!!!! later-- Sonda
