What is the best type of feeder for a new hive. I've got hive entrance(Boardman) feeders, but I was wondering if there is a better way.

My mom's boyriend has raised honey bees for many years and all he ever used to feed his bees, was in the spring he would put sugar water in a five gallon pale and they would just help themselves. This would keep them fed until the flower season was in peak and they could get their own food.

top feeder, ,an easy one is to take a frezer bag, ,fill it up,, lay it ontop of the frames,, make some hole/sl;ices into it,, add another box, then your cover,, no robbing,, nothign wasted, and cheap
