mangel beets

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I would like to plant mangel beets this year but I can't find seed anywhere. I've tried jung seeds, shumway, and my local stores. Nobody seems to have them. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! Cara

cara,

I just got on the Shumway's website and they do have 1 variety of magle beets. They might have more in their catalog, I know I ordered some a few years ago.

Hi Cara, great name, do you want these to feed to your animals? If so, do you cut them up and how small? Thanks! Cara

Vessey Seeds in PEI carries them, that's where I bought mine.

Thanks guys for the info, found them at rareseeds.com. I feed them to my cows, pigs, etc, I slice them up , and I might try drying them too. Thanks again. Cara
