what is the best vcd software to purchase?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Hi. I Understand that ezcd creator 5 is not what I want to use to make vcd's. from what I have read on this site can I assume that Nero is the primer package? I am using windows xp and accually had nero which was difficult to use for photo's. My system would not allow me to keep both. As I now have two computer's is it possible to have different software on each even though they will soon be networked together with the DSL modem or would the best method to use nero on both? Also is there a number (nero3 or 4?) that goes with nero that is preferred? Thank you for any direction you can supply

I answered your previous post along with Mehmet. Basically remove Roxio and install Nero. Nero supports XP according to everything I've read, but since I run Win2K, I can't say I've personally tested it. Roxio is notorious for not playing well with other burning programs. It really doesn't matter where you run Nero as long as you can get your video to the PC to burn it. The current version of Nero is 5.5.something I think. Mehmet listed it in his post. Use this. You can download Nero from www.ahead.de and use it free for 30 days. They only have the current release available for download, but you should always use whatever release is current as they fix bugs all the time. Granted, most of Nero's bugs are small and most people never see them as they might be specific to certain burners.
