Crafting Hint of the Day - Table of Fabric Conversionsgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Cooking & Crafts : One Thread |
The following table shows how to substitute and calculate how much fabric you will need in differant widths. For instance, if you need 1-3/8 yards of 54" fabric, but you can only find the type of fabric you want in 36" width, then you will need 2 yds. of the 36" fabric.
Need 2-7/8 of 54" fabric but only can find 60"? Then you will only need 2-1/4 yds. of the 60" fabric.

Karen, what does the "A" with what looks like an accent mark over it mean, and the * mean?I seem to remember the * meaning 1/4 or 1/2 or 3/4 on a typewriter, but don't remember which it is, lol.
The chart is very helpful, thank you!

Karen, if you're wondering what in the world I mean about the "A", it showed up in the chart when I went to "post reply". Have no idea why.
