Stratfor?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Freedom! self reliance : One Thread

Does anyone here subscribe to Stratfor Intelligence report..(or whatever the exact name is:). I am very very curious o know what they are saying about our 80,000 troops in the Mid East and the frightening state of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Also, I'm kind of curious to know and can't recall myself, how long ago was it that Arafat was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize?

Doreen,

Arafat won the peace prize in 1994.

Wow! 94. How time flys. Thanks, I was really unsure of when, but I thought it was '96 or '97....duh. Stuff over there is escalating at an alarming rate. I read Debka, which is Israeli if I understand correctly and they report a lot more than we see in the headlines. I just should have subscribed to Stratfor, but couldn't see spending the money on it.

Doreen,

If you enjoy reading news with the foreign perspective go to:

http://drudgereport.com

The site has links to a large number of foreign newspapers. It is neat to read, for example, what Pakistan is saying about what is going on in Afghanistan, compared to what our government is telling us. (Major contradictions at times.) The only question is who is telling us the truth about what is going on? My guess is nobody is really telling the truth.

Try it you"ll like it.

Talk to you later.

In regards to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, I predict that as Sharon and Israel press on,Bush will eventually turn his back on them, when the Saudis follow Irag's lead to stop oil shipments. Then look for a intervention by the German lead EU.

I frequent Drudge quite a bit. I can't help myself, I'm a news junkie....it all started when i was about 7, my Dad would watch the Evening News and we would talk about current events. Ever since that time I simply can't help but read the news, listen to the news. It's terrible, I tell ya. There's no stopping me. Just one story, and that will be all. HA! I've lost my life to the news....oh, the tragedy~and Comedy!

No, but seriously, the European outlets seem to have a much more equitable presentation, but I keep getting this feeling like this is some kind of distraction and something really big and more imminent is coming from another direction. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

www.worldnetdaily.com regularly carries reports from Stratfor, as well as other excellent sources for un-sanitized news from the Middle East. The editor in chief of WorldNetDaily is an Arab (Lebanonese) Christian (and American). His editorials on the current Middle East crisis are quite interesting. You can search their site for past articles to find a wealth of information.
