So, it's a year on Monday........

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Freedom! self reliance : One Thread

This forum will be 1 full year old on 4/8/2002. Whacky, isn't it? I'd really like to know how many people visit, and whether you find it worthwhile. So for the first time ever, I'd like to take a roll call! You don't have to use a real addy or a real name or even a discernible writing style, but I would be really grateful if you would oblige me.

I always reevaluate things on anniversaries and since the implementation of the Anti American Act (otherwise known as the PATRIOT Act) it seems like people are becoming more and more disinclined to speak their minds, or maybe it's just me? Dunno- anyway Happy Birthday to this little corner of cyber space and thanks to all of you for joining me in it!

Hi Doreen, Just checking in, which I do everyday. I don't post much, but I enjoy the forum. Wow, has it been a year? Daryll

-- Daryll in NW FLA (twincrk@hotmail.com), April 07, 2002.

Hi Doreen, I don't post often but check the posts every day. I like reading the arguments as I enjoy arguing myself but am not good with the written argument.

-- Anna in Iowa (countryanna54@hotmail.com), April 07, 2002.

I check here about every day too. I think you're right, people are a bit more leery of speaking out, at least sometimes. Of course, I can't tell that much of a difference on tb2k which I think you visit too.

-- Deena in GA (dsmj55@aol.com), April 07, 2002.

Doreen, I'm sorry, I meant to tell you how much I appreciate the site and the work you do keeping it going. Each forum I go to has it's own personality and I enjoy all of them. Thanks!

0 score and 12 months ago, Doreen brought forth on Lusenet a new forum conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all people are created equal--

We have come together here today to dedicate a portion of this forum as a final resting place for those who wrote their lives here. It is fitting and proper that we do this.

The world will little note, nor long remember what we did here, but it will long remember what was said here. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task before us----that we here highly resolve that these words shall not have been written in vain, that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom, and a real government of the people, and by the people shall emerge from the ashes and ruble of the disaster now enslaving it's people !!

I love this forum. Don't post much anymore as you know and you also know why! Wish I wasn't so chicken! Thank God for people like you and Joel who aren't afraid to speak out against our uncle and tell the truth!

Great forum Doreen. You can't help it if there are a few wackos, and there are lots of interesting posts.

I'm scared to speak out, so I'll only say "F_CK THE P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act!!!!!

-- joj (joj@home.org), April 08, 2002.

Count me in, Doreen! I am here - reading mostly. Just do not seem to have the time to devote to posting and the follow-up involved (because there is ALWAYS, follow-up ~ ~ tee-hee) Besides, it seems almost impossible to tackle the never-ending, non-stop, constant, daily, moment by moment assault from the left.....see, that's why I don't post so much anymore, lol! AND, so I won't have to follow up - by the Left, I mean the totalitarian group and the socialist types...

Which btw, might I recommend a truly superb "must read" book - "The New Thought Police" - written by Tammy Bruce. A former head of the LA Now group, an unashamed lesbian and liberal who has fought for the causes of the left for most of her life. This book, without question, reveals the truth of what liberalism and by extension, the Democratic party, has become. I would consider her to be a soul- mate -- her quest for truth, at ALL costs, overrides her desire to have her causes won. I admire her greatly!

Anyway, sorry Doreen -- but see!!!! -- this is why I don't post much! Whew, I am here, tho!

Here in England. I check in every day. I enjoy the arguement even if I don't really know what you are all talking about sometimes!!

Best Wishes

"Here", she said in a tiny voice, lest she be recognized and counted among the conspiracy theorists and malcontents who frequent this forum. All kidding aside, I always enjoy the exchange of thoughts, whether I chime in, or not.

Thats my hand waving---in the fifth row--the blue flannel shirt.

Big thanks!

-- Jim-mi (hartalteng@voyager.net), April 08, 2002.

Still here. Although the last post I made was overrun by anti Christ leftists, I still stop in. Thanks.

-- (XP@notnow.thanks), April 09, 2002.

Well good!!! Thanks to all of you good people!

lesley, I'm sorry there isn't too much in the middle for you, but maybe you can try being a middle linebacker from time to time?

Is it a conspiracy when it's proven to be true? And I really didn't think we had been arguing too much lately....Heck, so many of the lefties are in agreeance with the righties that it's becoming downright scary and JOJ still won't go look over the edge of that abyss and report back! Then again, maybe my defintion of arguing is different from some.

BJC~~~emails are bouncing, did you change your addy or did I mess it up in my address book?hmmmm.:)

I haven't read the contents of the Patriot ACT .This forum and it's people who post here keep me reminded..It's a good forum Doreen.

A YEAR ALREADY??!! Hard to believe!! Don't have near the time to be on the puter for "fun" anymore, but when I do get the chance, this is the first place I go, even before checking my mail! :) Doreen, thanks for all your hard work starting and maintaining this forum, don't know what we would do without you!

Joel, well said!! I hope that all have plenty of rain on their crops, healthy animals, and nothing but good memories from the rest of the year. Gods blessings on all.
