If you can't tell the press or the nation anything of substance then why have a briefing?

At yesterday's Pentagon briefing Mr. Rumsfeld finally got frustrated again because the questions all revolved around a subject that he is not at liberty to discuss. That is like most issues brought before him. He would probably just love to tell us how "good" a job that everyone is doing with this war, but his hands are virtually tied.

Today, one reporter finally got fed up with the "stonewalling" from the Pentagon. He said if all this was for was to further "demonize" Iraq then what was the point of having a briefing at all? It is the same thing over & over again. We don't get anything but the official line of "We don't know" or "It is too soon." But they then get mad if the media goes to other sources of information that might actually tell them something whether it is true or not.

If you don't have anything to say then just put out a statement, and quit wasting the time the press has to cover issues. Also when are we going to start calling them "war casualties"? Except for a few most have been called the recipients of "unfortunate accidents". Sorry but war is not an accident.

As I said in my E-mail, we know your mad. Plus in Internet terms using all caps is akin to SHOUTING! Still happy to see someone on my side and the moderators. Don't pick on the simple minded or those to full of Zoloft or Paxil to know what's happening. Just stick with us and Mr. Gore and you won't have to SHOUT! That comes from being out on those news boards too long. This is a safe place pilgrim. An attack on one here is an attack on all. Conservatives can stay in their own forums if they don't want to have a civilized debate.
