Buying a Used Camera @ eBay

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Camera Equipment : One Thread

I found a site (Online Auction) called www.eBay.co.uk where I can buy used equipments at very low price (than shops). Is it advisable to buy used equipment from this site (or online shops)?

Is there anyone have experience? Please help me.

You can find things on ebay that you can't find anywhere else, but don't expect guarantees. if you know exactly what you want, you know what it's worth and you can fix it if there's something not-quite- perfect about it, it's great. many sellers are very honest and helpful, some are less so. check the seller's feedback notes carefully before you bid. also, don't be surprised or discouraged if you're outbid on your bargain item in the last 10 seconds of the auction: if it's really a bargain, you probably will not be the only person who noticed it.

overall, i've been very satisfied with my dealings on ebay, both selling and buying; as with most auctions, the atmosphere of competition among bidders tends to favor the seller.

I happen to work for a company that sells exclusively on Ebay and I even had a business for a year selling mostly camera accessories on Ebay.

I would not hesitate to buy from a dealer on Ebay, but you must create some dialog with the seller and get good responses to your questions before you place a bid. This usually soothes my mind when buying something of large value (over $50) on this format.
