Hi, I have some 5 does that just had babies this week. My question is how soon can they rebreed? My guess is that they are Pygmy/Alpine crosses, but I cannot be sure. They may only be 1/4 Pygmy. Thanks. Amy

Pygmies will breed year round, not sure about crosses. I would not re- breed until this fall. They need time to recover from the previous deliveries & get back into shape in order to have another healthy pregnancy.

I agree with Wendy, re breeding too soon after may stress them too much and complications arise. I am not sure about pygmies since I raise Alpines, but my guess is that they could come into a estrus cycle as soon as 2-3 months after.
