I'm looking to buy a used 5' brush hog, preferably with a stump jumper, slip clutch, chain guards, etc., and also a 5' box blade. I'll certainly consider any other 5' implements as well. I doubt I can use anything much larger as I'm only working with 26 HP here.

I don't know if this is appropriate to the board but I've learned a long time ago that when you're looking for something, it pays to tell anyone and everyone you know so that's what I'm doing here. I found my tractor through a wrecker driver for the transmission shop I use whose wife's brother's father-in-law had passed away leaving it in his estate in West Virginia. He took his rollback out there and brought it back to Fort Wayne for me. ;o)

After seeing that, I figure implements ought to be easy. Let me know if you have or know or anything near me that's reasonable. Thanks.

Gary, Is this a 26hp gas or 26hp diesel engine. Power ratings are different. You want to know the drawbar HP. If the tractor is of a recent vintage then www.tractorbynet.com and www.jplan.com are a couple of great sites for tractor info. If its an older pre 60 tractor then www.yeasterdaytractor.com is a good site.

As for where to by, I would keep a keen eye on the newspaper for auction. There should be some consignment sales or farm equipment auction in your area. Check out the local tractor dealers and check out the front yards of neighbors.

It's a JD 4200 MFWD Diesel with 26 total HP and 20 PTO HP.
