Time!

Will I ever have enough time??? My days are so filled I just feel like I am spinning sometimes, and there are still so many things I want to do. I don't think there will ever be enough time.

Today I got up early, checked the site, baked some cinnamon rolls, cleaned my room. Took Cale to get his "new" truck, came home and baked banana nut bread. Washed dishes, and cleaned the kitchen, went to visit my Mom and my grandmother for a few hours. When I got home a tax customer appeared and needed taxes done!!! Then I grabbed a blanket, book and some snacks for the crew and went fishing with the family. Then home to cook supper (fresh trout, corn on the cob, fruit salad, and sliced cucumbers) Then I peeled potatoes for tomorrow, washed a load of laundry and hung it up, boiled a few dozen eggs for the kids to decorate, and now I am just sitting here! With still several things to do. I am not complaining, but truly this is only about 1/2 of what I wanted to do today, and now I am pretty tired!!!

So what I want is more time, or a way to figure out how not to sleep! Sometimes my mind just races with things to do... I will be working and think of so many things to share with all of you!!! Sometimes dozens of ideas will come to mind and I have to stop myslef from indunuating the board. So instead I jot them on little slips of paper and stick them under my keyboard!!! There are plenty of thoughts under thre to share!!

How do you manage your time, is there ever enough, what do you think??

No, Melissa, there's never enough time...unless you're disciplined enough to get your priorites straight and not be a perfectionist. Being as gifted as you are and as energetic, I doubt you'll ever find enough time, or am I talking about myself, no, not any more, the energy just isn't there, but then I'm gettin older and then there's that pesky chemical thing Guess I'm making excuses. It's frustrating. However I do accomplish more than a lot of almost 50 year olds. If I could just remember what...

Oh boy do I know what you mean! I have been going through the same thing and getting very overwhelmed with all that needs to be done. I can't keep up in the winter let alone spring with adding in the garden, the lawn, the flowers, more animals, etc.

All you can do is what you can do. I am determined to not be so busy that I miss life. I worked in an office for way too many years 60 and 70 hours a wekk. Time went flying by and, looking back..I have nothing to show for it. Just busy work and making someone else rich! I moved to the farm to slow life down...LOL!! I am busier now! But what I do means something. I take time now to look every morning at the mountains on the way up to the chicken coop. Smell the fresh air as I hang clothes. Listen and look for the birds as I feed the animals, etc.

I have my "front porch sittin' time" after breakfast and again after supper. Everyone knows they don't bother Momma during her porch sittin'! That's what brings me back in perspective. Things will never all be done...you just do what you can and prioritize -- just be sure and put porch sittin' toward the top of the list!

You are very right Karen. Really a lot of my list of things to do are mostly fun things. Just sometimes I have all of these ideas, I think one lifetime is barely enough!!!

I get up nearly every morning between 5 and 5:30. I never get done with everything that needs done, even with all the children home to help. Every day has its own list of things to do, but they rarely get all done. I just have learned to do the most important and leave the rest alone. I do rotate things that are done weekly, so that what wasn't done last week is put on the priority this week. That way, things aren't left undone for long.

Make a note, and put it on your keyboard. Remind yourself to get up at 2:00 A.M. this coming sunday morning and set your clock up one hour. You will be one hour futher behinder at that time, go figger. One good thing is that we will all be in the same boat.
