Grilled Pizza Sandwiches

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

This was a great lunch today. We melted 1/2 cup of butter, and added 1 tsp garlic, and 1 tsp Italian herbs. Use this, to butter your sliced bread, we used wheat. Place on griddle. Add a thin layer of sauce, a few slices of pepperoni, and a little cheese. Could add peppers or veggies, whatever you like on pizza. Top with another buttered piece of bread, and cook until brown on each side. Makes a great "grilled pizza sandwich."

Thanks for posting this. I was originally planning on homemade pizza tonight, but Gary's hanging more drywall, I'm making a nightgown and we're gonna work on the chicken coop later, so I think we'll have this instead. God Bless.

Well we had the sandwiches for supper, YUM! Gary had pepperoni and veggies, I had lots of veggie-onion gr pepper and mushrooms. I didn't melt the butter. I spread it on then added garlic and oregano. We were pleased.

We melted the butter because ours is always hard!! I also thought they were very good and different. You could also use olive oil, which I am going to try next time.

I did saute the veggies. We had these again last night, Gary had sausage on his, we grated the cheese this time and added more garlic powder, the sauce was lacking. Sure am glad you posted this recipe.
