A pretty glass plate arranged with fruit and a dip in the center is very elegant and would be perfect for the shower. Among the best fruits for this are: strawberries, grapes, kiwi, bananas, apples (be sure and brush the apples and bananas with lemon juice before putting out to prevent discoloring), berries, and melon. You can suppliment the fresh fruit with the following canned fruits that are attractive on the platter: pineapple chuncks, mandarine oranges, maraschino cherries.

You can also cut the expense by making fruit kabobs. That way you don't needs as many differant types of fruits.

For presentation, arrange the fruit or kabobs (you could go to the party store and purchase little wedding picks) on a real pretty fancy clear glass platter with the fruit dip in the center. The dip could be in a francy champagne goblet and you could have curly ribbon in the bridal colors coming out of the goblet. Just put a tiny piece of tape to hold the ribbon before filling with the dip. It looks real pretty!

A really great dip (and easy to make besides!) is to combine the following and chill until ready to use:

1 package cream cheese
3/4 jar marshmallow creme
1 teaspoon lemon juice

My favorite is 3 cans of fruit, juice and all, mixed with 1 regular size package of instant vanilla pudding. That's it. Makes a vanilla sauce. You can use whatever kind of fruit you like. My favorite is fruit cocktail.
