Can you still buy Dr. Scholl's sandals in the states?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

There was an article on Yahoo a day or so ago that the Dr. Scholl who invented (from a clog) the famous sandal died recently. I really liked those sandals--well-made, looked nice, etc..

The article said they were still being made and sold, but not where. I checked the website for Schering-Plough (they own the Dr. Scholl brand name) and nothing came up--anyone know where you can still buy them?

Thanks!

I see Dr. Scholl's shoes at our local Wal-Mart. They are very comfortable and last forever!

Thank you--they do last for years and I always thought they were a nice sandal not quite dressy, but not too casual.

Well, struck out at our local Wal-Mart--they said they didn't get them this year. I wonder what other place might carry them.

Vermont Country Store sells them (vermontcountrystore.com), but they're expensive ($40 I think). I bought for $2 some at a Naturalizer outlet that was going out of business. You might check the stores that are still in business.

Katherine, thank you--I will check next time I'm at the mall. $40 isn't too bad, considering how long they last compared to other footwear I've owned. My last pair I bought at a thrift store! For some reason, I used to thing that drugstores carried them, I don't know why.

I just did a quick search on eBay. Are you looking for what they call the exercise sandal? It looks like this: There are many new pairs for sale on eBay for less than $40 - all different colors & sizes. If you tell me your size, I can do a search for you. Or you can go to eBay and type Dr. Scholl Sandal in the search box & it will bring up a list for you. Good luck!

PS - looks like some are going for $40.95 while others are going for $26.95 with shipping about $5.00.

You can find the sandals at www.haband.com. Got their mailing today and the leather sandals are 19.99 a pair. Rae SW Mo.

Thanks all--yes, that's the right picture. I did find one site that was $27 with free shipping. I had been hoping to find someplace local, so I could get the fit right the first time. Nice to know they're still around! I also found a number to call for a local dealer and will try that too.

Hmmmm......think I'll get a pair for the summer too !! I remember throwing mine away many years ago because I got tired of wearing them. Never seemed to wear them out. They are a great bargain no matter what price you happen to pay. I guess summer will get here....someday.
