D-I-Y Easter Eggs (Holidays)greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread
Needed: Large balloon, newspaper strips, plaster of Paris and some paint.
Blow up the balloon. Dip newspaper strips in creamy plaster of Paris and apply in layers to the balloon. Let dry. Cut in a trap door and put in whatever Easter goodies you want for a particular child. Now repair trap door with more wet newspaper strips. When completely dry paint as desired. Size of finished egg will depend on size of the balloon.
There will be harder to hide.

I love it - Thanks Ken! Last year we hid all the eggs for the kids to find when they woke up... when they woke up they found our German Shepherd outside eating them instead! Don't think that would be a problem with these eggs.

funny, we did our first egg hunt outside, and lost most of the low on the ground eggs to the dog too !
